Carpenter Co. is currently seeking an Hourly Local CDL Driver to join our Lakeland FL Manufacturing Plant. The successful candidate will be expected to safely and efficiently deliver finished products to customers at various locations.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. As an Hourly CDL Driver you will be expected to communicate politely and professionally with Company personnel and most importantly with external customers. Class A CDL Drivers perform their work using a Company truck face exposure to weather conditions and visit various customer locations. Challenges may include on-time delivery of products to customers while complying with various state and Federal laws and regulations such as DOT regulations etc.

Essential Functions:

• Receive and understand instructions from Dispatcher Traffic Supervisor and external customers.
• Maintain positive relationships with all customers.
• Ability to effectively communicate and relay information to others.
• Possess and maintain a clean MVR within Companys guidelines.
• Properly follow administrative procedures regarding billing and manifest paperwork.
• Transport and deliver materials and services per customer requirements.
• Know understand and maintain compliance to all State and Federal DOT rules and regulations governing the operation of tractor trailers and transportation of Company products and materials.
• Report conditions that may affect the operations of the trucks and trailers.
• Maintain accurate DOT Logs.
• Deliver product as scheduled.
• Assist in loading and unloading.
• Perform required checks to equipment and/or vehicle used at start during and end of use.
• Fueling and checking of equipments fluid levels required of unit or units used.

Skills and Requirements:

• Must have a Class A CDLincludingManual Transmission Endorsement but no experience required.
• Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Must adhere to all DOT Regulations and practice safe driving techniques.
• Must maintain accurate paperwork and electronic DOT logs.
• Must unload finished product at each destination as required.
• Must be able to lift carpet cushion rolls weighing 50 to 90 lbs. each.
• Mustfollow all Carpenter Co. rules to include safety regulations attendance and personal conduct.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
